Etsy Hearts: Alfred Shaheen

All this talk about the South Pacific has got me thinking about Hawaiian designer Alfred Shaheen. Reaching the height of his popularity during the 1950s, Shaheen used his own handprinted textiles for his garments, evoking the topographic landscapes and spirit of the Hawaiian Islands... Alfred closed up shop in 1988, but you can still find quite a few of his vintage pieces on sites such as Etsy... The garments pictured above are some of the best examples of his work (I think) and are all available for purchase.... Click on them!!
